Hello everybody!
Since Im in Holland now, I think my blogs should be in English!
I got a few things to catch up with starting with let's say our Dingle tour!
Since there was only one week left in Ireland, but also because Ireland has so much to still show us that we didn't see, Mona Kathi and I still wanted to make a trip. We had to decide between Dingle and connemara, and even though Kathi already went to Dingle, we decided -mainly because of the weather- to go to dingle..
And is was legen -wait for it- dary! Dingle itself is this wonderfull, characteristic cute town, very touristic though, with loads and loads of tiny shops (tá siopa ann) and a little harbor. Good. Since we invited Moritz and Konrad to come with us, and they have a care, we where in the oppertunity to drive the 'ring of kerry', but then the lets say ring of dingle.
And I think Im not lying when I say that this route is more pretty then the o-so famous ring of kerry. We stopped at 2 beaches, took our shoes of at 2 of them, didn't care about anything anymore and just played like children from elementery school, running in the water and jumping over the beaches. It was freaking amazing.
The other part of this week was that we all had to say our goodbyes to those who we spend so much time with the last few months. We had laughs and tears, and flags that needed to be signed. some goodbyes went really slow, the others quit fast.
Its nice to see how much people start to care about each other, look at Michele, when he got the bus at 1 AM I think there were about 30 people to say goodbye to him, what a wonderfull last view of Ireland/Erasmus that must have been.
Other's goodbyes where at parties, where I was asked to be carefull with the choice of music, coming out of Ipig that night!
And sometimes Julien and me played and sang some songs with guitar.. making some awesome new variations of say, "Valerie" of Amy Winehouse and "little lion man" of manford and sons. Awesome, FOR FOK SAKE!
and then the last day there was only 3 erasmus left, Kathi, Mona and me so there was another party. Yes for us ^^.
I'm kinda surprised in what a down mood im in, typing this blog! stupid people, you're making me miss Ireland too much! :P
ok. The actual last day for mona and me was on the saturday. We just put kathi on the bus, and then we where at home again and our neighbours made us a really nice breakfast! Really nice with petit pain from the over and koffie and stuff...:)
With sarah i agreed that i would give my coffee machine to her, so she was really happy with it. Now the has the responsibility to make coffee for the neighbours, and just have a coffee with a cookie -dutch style- so now and then :)
When we were about to leave -Ireland for good- Mona asked if somebody just could do something memorable just as 'the perfect' ending of our Ireland adventure!
Nothing happened. Untill, we were actually outside, the rest following us, when sarah bend over and dropped the coffee filter out of the coffee machine! and of course -as i told her- there was still some, eh.. comment tu dit...eh some coffee powder in in.. so it was spilled all over the carpet. That was where we where talking about! thank you :)
Then Mona and I left.. :( It was really sad!
Then we went to the dunnes store one more time, to buy some guinness and some bulmers. And of course, i Hurt myself in Holland when we came here, so ofcourse i needed to hurt myself on the last day of Ireland.. so apparently my brain thought: lets do not so carefull with the back-car-doors. So jup, i slammed my finger in between these two lovely doors... au...
I went to the frozen department, to put my finger in betweens some sacs of peas.. ahaha.. and yes, after i needed to wipe the blood of it.. ^^ ghehe...
So, after I spend 80 euro's on alocohol we could leave Ireland.
We drove to Rosslare, were the boat was waiting for us to bring us to Cherbourg. We went by Celtic ferries this time, unlike the other way when we had stenaline! Unfortunately this was not stenaline :( And also, it was really weird, because they only asked for what name our ticket was reserved on.. we didnt have to show our passport ONE TIME! omg... and also: they didn't check our car -or any other- one time!
So our cabin was quit nice.. but the rest was really shyte! On our way to Ireland, in the Stenaline, We had a really nice cappucino/café latte and we wanted to have the same again... so we saw that he also had a nice machine, so we paid 7 euro's for 2 cappucino.. and what did he do! :O he pushed a freakin button on a instant machine next to it,.. so we had to drink a 3.50 cappucino that tasted like shit! We where really sad that it wasnt stena :(
Then the next day we arrived in Sunny France (we left a rainy Ireland so that's way better). It was really strange to actually have to make an effort to speak French, for them being normal and for us as a effort and not just something to look fancy. Then i needed to be carefull because i learned how to swear in french in Ireland.. and this was becoming normal for me. Ok, so we where at a gassstation in line, coz we wanted to buy a sandwich. It was a long cue and when i looked back I saw this other lady opening another cashregister. So i wanted to swear so i said PUT... i wanted to finish with AIN.. but then i rememberd being in France so i stopped myself.. But I already said puut, which is actually worse then saying putain.. Nice... haha.. you should have seen the look on the girl's face standing behind me haha! omg.. ok, and we travelled on. Mona started texting with Sandy.. she thought. Her replies where really unlike her, and mona wondered if she was okay. But when we really started to worry was when 'she' replied that is was ok that when we finished the garden of versailles, that we could join the rest in paris.. WHAT!? is she then not at home? we where really confused... anyhow, we followed tomtom to Sandy's place.. and i needed to make a turn, because we where in front of there house.. but i needed to park. So i backed up at the pavement.. needed to be carefull coz there was already somebody walking there.. so mona and i where really sharp fixated on the pavement when suddenly we heard a loud scream coming at us... We both were in total shock, but it was sandy just really excited to meet us in France :) thank God.. haha
so I parked the car 'inside' and then we started to explain the whole situation with the text, that we didn't get it and stuff... on which she replied: but i didnt' get any texts? We checked, and mona texted whole day with arthur!! Including the 'bisou' and 'love you' in each text haha!
so we had a quick drink, and a chat with sandy's parents.. (in french!!.. at least... we tried :() and then we went of to paris, to see the others. We had a cocktail and some sushi, and then we went into a pub and then back home again!
The next day we left early went to versailles, met Arthur there again, and went to the palace and the Garden of Versailles to have a picnic ( an actual picnic a 'outside meal', with sandwich etc) there.. it was freakin' lovely, coz it was like 30 degrees, no clouds and no wind :D Perfect.
Then we went to paris again, te meet the rest at the eiffel tower. We walked through paris, ate at a lovely place (a real nice burger, with a beer) and then went to sacre couer to see paris at night!
then we had to leave again...
we had a long drive togo.. and we didn't make a lot of stops. Except for in Belgium, where i needed to fuel op, and we wanted to grab a bite. This was really strange for me, because we where in dutch belgium. So I had to think about.. im not in my own country, BUT i cán actually speak dutch and they will understand me.. For some reason this was really strange for me.. also i needed to laugh in myself, because -even though this lady was REALLY friendly- she had of course the flamish accent.. which is quit different and cuter then the duch.. and therefore just really funny for me.. haha
we fueled up, had a pizza and it was really nice there! :)
oh, btw.. at another gasstation somebody said to me: why are you speaking english to me if you're french? Sorry? im not french haha! it was btw the second time, because in the metro in Paris, i met 2 dutch ladies, working for a travel compagnie and they asked me: but you dont life in Holland do ya? i said.. yes why? yes.. you hear like you're from france.. :S
Why does suddenly everybody think im french? I only now french swear words for crying out loud!
haha.. ohja.. and some nice sentences... but i wasnt allowed to use them at the goodbyes from matthieu haha He probably has right, saying 'vas te faire enculer' is way nicer then saying: tu vas me manquer' ... hmm..
anyway.. we travelled on to holland and at 8 oclock I arrive 'home'.. or at least.. at my parents home..
It was so strange for talking dutch, that it's 'normal' (even though i started to speak english sometimes... without me even realising it)
mona her parents where there to pick her up, so it was in a few minutes time: English, German, Dutch, Gronings so it was a multi langual evening! haha..
The next day I had to call the Vet to make an oppointment for my cat.. coz she needs to have a injection on tuesday. She is sick and we have to finish it :( Nice hea?! on my second day at home!
It is by the way really strange to be at home.. i feel like im on vacation at my parents.. and that i need to go 'home' again in a week, to Limerick.. but ja.. thats not gonna happen of course.
There are some nice things in the near future, sarah and allison are coming to Holland, and i can show them Groningen.. and after were going to Ameland, an Island of Holland.. :)
And Matthieu texted me that he's trying to come to holland this summer!!! :D:D yay..
Also some other Frenchies are trying to come to holland, but they don't know when yet.. But its nice to know that they wanna!
So tonight Im having a beer with a friend of mine in our bar.. which for me was normal to have a drink and a chat every day, at somebody's house.. but here its abnormal.. and i actually have to make a big effort for making people coming over here... :(
Anyway.. erasmus feeling will remain in my heart!
To unleash it again next year in Prague!
I'd like to finish this blog with my facebook post of 'facts' which contains everything of my erasmus in Ireland..
The fact that we're never able to say 'breakfast' normally again, or to be able to hear people talk about there breakfast, and not having to laugh/ !and now: the same for 'picknick' aswell!
the fact that everytime we say 'me too', we have to think about 'the italians'/
The fact that the sentence 'that's fair grand like' will lose all of its strenght in Holland../
the fact that some facial expressions are just able to replace at least 4 words/
the fact you can make a whole meal, from just patatoes, eggs and a bit flower/
The fact that some people are 'immer am senden dran'/
The fact that I forgot how to swear in dutch, and im only able to swear in French now ^^/
How lovely it is, to be at a party, and the host comes 'because she has to drink with all (!) of the guests/
the fact that 'somewhere over the rainbow' got a new thought attached/
Knowing that French guys, for some reason, really like to stand half-naked on the street, claccing their chatte.. (or smthng like this :p)/
the fact that i have to teach my friends back home, an awesome & easy dance.. because it will look stupid if im just doing it alone../
The fact that 'proud mary' got a whole new context/
Just like, little lion man, rehab, wonderwall etc. etc.
Knowing that I will not able to say 'zakje' again, without laughing.. hard../
the fact that i got carefull of the swedish personal space.. I think they bite if you come to close... "SJUUSCH!" (;-))/
Knowing that -back home- saying 'sláinte' will only confuse people, instead of making them excited for the evening../
the fact that shouting 'buffalo' will probably not make people drink the whole glass at once in holland/
The fact that if i see someone walk crippled, that he/she probably just tripped... in stead of being cold.... everywhere/
the fact i have to look for another person, who can make me laugh only by talking to me.. or sometimes even just looks at me../
The fact that i have to change my sleeping pattern... again/
the fact that i probably won't spend every night till 4am just talking in someone's living room.../
the fact that i only have to pay 4 euro's for a bottle of apfelkorn.. and if it breaks, i can just get a new one... ;-)/
The fact that guinness in any other location will probably be "scheit"/
the fact i can go in to city center, and party till 6 am if i wantto.. and go straight to the next 'bar' to have a -wait for it- "morning meal"/
Thinking that going out on a monday night, will probably never be so much fun/
the fact that 'a nice night at locke bar' is not so easy to organize anymore.. of course ;-) /
The fact that i will never forget the awesomeness of Erasmus 2011 in Ireland, with Dreamteam ParkviewPeople and all the others I met!
Awesome, Geil.
Lets pump this last week till the limits.
Love ye
Thank you again everybody for this experience.. and for sure; its the end of erasmus in Ireland.. but not the end of 'us'! :D
